i was trying to keep pstems as well
it was the pstems which were shriveling up
maybe i needed to have them in coarse sand when i planted them out but i have not...

Horses don't normally eat where they shlt so it's fairly easy to keep them away from small plants.

i havent had much luck with dry storing thus far
it may be that i have not kept the right and consistent temperatures and humidity
humidity has probably been my biggest issue as each time i attempt...

Seeing that the roots can't go dormant and will rot, is there any advantage of leaving it in the ground opposed to digging it up and placing it in dry storage?

It seems like it would re-root earlier...

Another stacked leaf. Exactly what would be expected if this is to be a true Super Dwarf Pisang Awak. A green version of this plant could easily become the most desirable banana for indoor growers...

This banana looks surprisingly unique. The mix of maroon and green makes it seem like a purely ornamental plant at first glance. But knowing it will eventually produce edible fruit makes it even more...

edit: it was 2 weeks ago i brought most of them inside
i tried keeping some of them a bit taller instead of hacking them down to 1 foot tall
actually my maurelli were only dug out of the ground...

Thanks. Yeah it's gonna be a heavy bunch, 14 full hands and over 20' pseudostem. It sometimes works out really well for photos that my mountain is terraced.
