I know I ran across that terminology for Saba ("compact") somewhere in the last week. I'm pretty sure it refers to the bunch structure and not the height of the plant.

I love sabas, but they are definitely not compact! I haven't had too many problems with it getting to giant proportions yet, but this is only its second growing season (from a small 1 foot tall,...

Try ebay, there are some good sellers there, wellsprings is one, We had very good luck dealing with them and their t/c's grew good. Good luck

Saba is available, just have to keep an eye out. I got mine from a fellow on the forum (last summer). It's about 7 feet tall now with 3 feet of clear pstem.
I find them to be a very pretty plant,...

If it's a Saba there is nothing compact about it. I stopped growing this monster cause it takes too much room and falls over in high winds. I gave away the corms and get fruit from those that...

'Compact' Saba

I was in Wal-Mart last week and saw a small potted banana with a tag saying 'Compact Saba' and that it gets 17-20 ft tall. Anyone ever heard of this?
