FHIA 18 Bonanza
Hello.
I have potted suckers of 18 aka Bonanza in some places.
This is a great banana with nice brightness & sweetness. Good size fruit with a soft but firm texture.
Plants are around 9 feet for me...

anyone selling Lasiocarpa
Am in zone 6 and thought I would give this a second try. First attempt lasted about 3 months before i killed it.
Any tips specific to it on overwintering would really appreciate.

I use a special blend called the super fruiter 6-3-16. Made by Diamond R. Recommended specifically for bananas grown in Florida sugar sand. And I can get 50 lbs for around 22 bucks. Works great...

It's a cross between Ornata and Sikkimensis and yes I too have noticed the flimsy nature of it. It can't stand any wind because as you say the leaves just break.
