Welcome! It's probably Orinoco. That's the most common variety in Southern California. Pics will confirm it.

Dwarf red doesn't normally have any red on the undersides of the leaves. Don't know what it is.

The pstem has a good bit of red as do the underside of the leaves.
There are no wine colored blotches on the...

They have a lot of these available down here right now. I have picked up a few from different sources and have talked to several of the people that go down to the Rio Grand Vally and pick them...

Keep in mind not all cooking bananas are plantains. Plantains are a very specific genetic group of cooking bananas. It may not be a plantain banana.




They will not be able to grow leaves until...

Look pretty nice but doesn't have the root structure to hold itself up if it gets leaves. I hope you have a stake.. give that bad boy the root stimulator treatment for 2 months :^)

No, I'm sorry. I forgot to mention they were bare root. They must have trucked them in from South Texas, Mexico, or Florida.
