Re: It's to cold!!!
You never know what will pop out of that frozen tundra in the spring.
If the corm is in a protected site and you planted it below the permafrost
it might surprise us and pop up .:)
I got my fingers...

A good snow pack might help your hopes. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

Re: Fruiting Ae Ae
I'm pretty sure Ae-Ae was traditionally a cooking-type banana, though it can be eaten ripe as well.

The ripe ones I've eaten were OK, more starchy than a grocery store Cavendish and not quite as good. Cooking brings our their best. Cooked they are excellent, with great texture and flavor with a...

Re: Did I over fertilize
I was so happy when I found an Ag supplier nearby. Twenty two bucks and change for 50 lbs as opposed to over $50 for 40 lbs at a retail nursery.
It's also good to supplement with Purdue chicken...

Re: Did I over fertilize
For bananas you want an NPK with a ratio of medium-low-high. I use 6-3-16. With minors of course. Find an Ag supplier near you. For a new planting -- 1 lb per month. Mature mat -- 2 lbs.

I've germinated Musa seed many times. Since you may have gotten them from a seed catalog, or you do not know how fresh they are; and also they do take some time to sprout, I always score the seed...
