Re: When to change pots?

Pop the plant out of the container. Does it look like every inch of usable space is taken up by roots? Root bound would be a great indicator to needing a bigger pot. Also a plant slowing down on...

The right plant+the right pot+the right soil=success

I have only fruited 1 plant in a pot. Although a bit of a different situation. It was in my 28 gallon container in my aquaponic setup. Dwarf...

Re: Dwarf red?

The reds I have very little experience with. I have seen young Patupi at that stage look very similar to your picture. Time will tell if the red stays or goes with maturity of your plant. Plant looks...

Re: Dwarf red?

I have a positive not ID. It is definitely, without a doubt, not the Unicorn Banana.

Re: photos not showing up

Often it is because the pictures are too big. Try the process again with reduced size. Good luck!

Re: Generic 'Dwarf Banana' ID?

Getting a positive ID on a plant that size is really difficult. Best bet is to talk to someone who really knows the nursery industry and their suppliers and find out what plant they are cloning.

As...

Re: A little, tiny SH-3640 High Noon!.....

Wow Hector! 3640 is a monster grower for you for sure. Looks great!

For me the 3640 didn’t get as big. About 9 feet and only 5 hands of fruit.

Re: Need Recommendations for Banana Taste Diversity

There this known fact among banana growers. You can always plant 1 more. Dwarf Orinoco should also be on your list.

Re: UPDATE 2020 Season of my Nana Patches

You guys that live in the area of light freeze should try letting the sprinkler run on your bananas during the freezing temps. 50f + water from a hose will probably protect your plants. I am guessing...

Re: More Tall Namwa Blooms

I tricked the plant. I made the new growth that normally travels to the top of the plant, exit out the side of the plant. Looks kinda like a branch. I got the idea from a friend a while back. Anyway...

Re: More Tall Namwa Blooms

Yes, 4 feet. The cool part was that it was still a full sized bunch. If I remember right, it had 10 hands. You can see part of it in the Hydroponic growers sound off thread.

Re: More Tall Namwa Blooms

Wish I could let my Tall Namwah fruit at that height. I have to trick them to fruit lower to keep them under my 12 foot roof. Love the fruit. Recently had a 12 foot tall plant with a bunch at 4 feet....

Re: Container Grown edible banana for PNW

In the ground, plant will mostly use the top 12 inches. Probably because it can stretch out easily. In a pot it will use every ounce of soil available. Now I do feel that wider is better because it...
