Hypertufa time......can't do anything out side....So I do this till the weather breaks
Hypertufa planters on vintage silver plate chafing dish holders repurposed from the local resale shop.
2 of the 8 will auction at the local hosta daylilly plant sale this summer.
I will plant these with mini hostas and small ferns.

I'm ready for spring, My deck of cards has been dealt out.
Not much sweat involved, 60°F feels great today! Nights are still chilly.

Planted more than 10 different kinds of seeds for my early crop, inside GH.

Tilled my intended banana mats also.

trek bike....nuke power plant...

Awsome fishing in the intakes of this plant.......A lottery is held each year to fish the intakes of this Florida plant; the average price to fish is 600.00 per ticket , and is sold out every year

Stopped moments later by SECURITY and my backpack
and fishing gear was checked after pic was taken.

Wow! Tough place to fish. Mr. Cocoa tossed out his catch net in the Indian River (dock where he lives) and caught some over-sized mullets which ended up on my hook. Only thing I caught were blowfish! I've had them before sauteed in copious amounts of butter cooked over a campfire in an "make do skillet". I didn't die though they were caught/prepared by a bunch of PA teenagers who hadn't a clue how to prepare them. Fond, yummy moment of my life. Oh to be that young, stupid and unknowing again! (BTW, they also fetched field corn to serve; 10 lbs of butter to 10 ears couldn't make that palatable.)

Burgers for dinner on my last fishing night....

I have been told that whiting and mullets are inedible for people. Well, when I was struggling to feed my 18 year old DS on limited funds I discovered whiting fillets at Murray's (strange store for bottom feeders in the DC area of which I had suddenly become one). I invented fish burgers (think crab cakes without the kick) which he happily ate because it was there and 3 filled him up; I had one to his. I did serve salad and something else.

They were good IMO; I would eat them again

When I was really poor in college I tried to turn a can of mackerel into something approaching the canned salmon cakes my mother served when I was young. It seems that cats love mackerel; Kat does not.

I knew whiting wasn't bait! Never had it smoked...Hmmm...I like drinks that include cherries very much.

Whiting......fresh off the turnip truck.
Ready to be smoked, the fellas in the photo could render a fish in seconds.
Whiting has thick flaky meat similar to cod or carp.
