Beautiful photography; excellent work, Mitchel. I like your appreciation of the beauty in the detail.

Thank you!

Very, very nice! Very artsy. What kind of camera are you using?

Thanks Kevin, I'm using a Nikon D90. I used an 18-105mm lens for all these shots.

Mitchel, your shots are spectacular as usual & please keep them coming. Cool thread.

Looking forward to seeing more pics from that great camera of yours....that I'm jealous of!

I'll be getting a similar camera next...maybe even for Christmas!

Thanks! You have plenty of photo ops living where you do so start studying how to use a DSLR now!

Smile Re: Photos from the garden.

I've been wanting a camera like that for so long...it's time I treated myself to one.

If you think I take a lot of shots now, just wait until I get one of those babies!!!

Anyways, I'd have to practice tons though before I'd actually show my pics...especially after seeing your professional ones, Mitchel. They're way too nice.

Thanks but I'm no pro, just a guy who really digs photography.

There is a bit of a learning curve but you'll figure it out. Keep in mind the lenses are really more important than the camera body. The body will age and be outdated but nice glass (lens) will live forever. You'll find out soon enough!

Joy Re: Photos from the garden.

I think you are just being modest and some of your shots look like they should be on a magazine cover!

Imagine too if Ante had a camera like that?!

I was telling Bob on the phone, about this woman I know who joined a photography site online and all the members pitched in and bought her an amazing DSLR!!! She got it totally for free and it takes absolutely beautiful pictures like yours, Mitchel!

: o

Unfortunately, I'll be paying for mine!

Wow, thanks for the great tips too. I won't buy one in a rush but I'll educate myself more on them and determine what would be a good one to start out with. Don't want anything too complicated at first.

Woops, sorry to derail your thread Mitchel, and now we're discussing cameras. We could always take it to the Insomnia thread if you prefer...

Otherwise thanks again for the hints & tips.
