Every now & then something odd, unusual or interesting escapes the compost pile & starts growing.
While getting ready to dump some of last year's pots out & reprocess the dirt & plant material I noticed a couple oddities in the leftovers from an n. tabacum plant, a little oak & a hops vine. The local "bushy tail rats" are no doubt to blame for the oak but the hops are a head scratcher. So... what does everybody else have going on their compostables?

I've never had much grow in my compost piles
I re-use dirt/potting soil - so that usually does not go into the compost |

I tend to get papaya plants, because we eat a lot of papaya and discard the seeds...

Oysters! I haven't seen any fruit bodies this year, but there is a lot of mycelium still breaking the stuff down.
