Yup, and that little grow tail is going right down into the sponge toward the water and nutrients!

I'm looking forward to growing the purple beauty sweet peppers. They're one of the nicest purple bells around. The plants are small and compact too, and they're excellent for container gardeners.

Now is this your Purple Beauty? It is going to town! Standing tall by tomorrow! The pepper is dark purple, but the leaves are dark green right. I need to scroll back. How tall does this one get?

Do you have Daylight Savings time Sherry? We have to set our clocks forward tonight. ~J

Yup, we set our clocks 1 hour ahead tonight too...at midnight.

Yes, this is the "Purple Beauty" and they are purple fruits on compact plants with green leaves. The plants themselves only reach just under 2 feet tall. Not too good for my aero-garden but excellent for a container in my window!

Ours is at 2 in the morning for some odd reason. Midnight seems to make much more sense! I'll just do it in the morning when I get up. The computer and my phone do it automatically so I only have to change a couple.

Do you have any peppers that have fruit on them right now Sherry?

This year I'm going to be growing Jimmy Nardello, Purple Beauty, Odessa Market and Sweet Chocolate Peppers. The Jimmy Nardello is the only kind I have gown before and they are very good.

Thumbs up Re: Sweet Pepper Lovers!!!

Yes, Jimmy Nardello is an excellent Italian frying sweet pepper. I love them, and the plants are extremely ornamental too. People mistake them for hot peppers and leave them alone!

Chocolate peppers, which I have seeds for also, are beautiful to look at and can be tasty, but they are much more bland than the red and green types.

Sounds like you've got a nice mix going on there, Dave. The "Purple Beauty" will not be a disappointment! You'll love them!

With 2 warm days all of my seeds are sprouting
It was over 70 outside yesterday, beautiful day
I bought a pack of the mixed pepper seeds too
I'm 3-4 weeks ahead of last years planting
Next year I may try starting a few seedlings in January to get an even earlier head start
Greenhouse went up close to 80, only dipped to 50 over nite

Sherry I think these are three different sweet bell peppers from that mix of seeds I bought. The reason I think they are different is because of the color of the stems. What do you think?

I've got several more with grow tails, you can see some of them in these pictures. ~J

Yup they're different I think....but you'll know soon enough when the blossoms come. Maybe the leaves will be different on some and you'll know even before the blossoms arrive.

They look great whatever they are.

Here's my Jimmy Nardello seedling. It's an Italian sweet frying pepper that looks like Cayenne...

YAY! I like the purple stemmed one the best so far! I hope the real leaves are dark. That would be awesome for a mixed seed packet! Boy that little Jimmy is growing fast! Already three or four real leaves. ~J

Mini sweet bell pepper seedling. The color will be a surprise but it will either be red, orange, yellow, or chocolate...

Here's my Purple Beauty today, slower growing because she's in a cooler window sill. As the weather warms, she'll grow quicker...

Jimmy Nardello is in a much warmer south window and here he is today, growing a lot faster...
