I bought one as a rizome but it came up green...then died. I think they have a tendency to revert to green and the white can burn in the sun but I've seen some nice ones as well.

They are a sport of Canna Omega, or Annei depending on what continent you live on, it has different names. They do burn very bad in sun and can revert to the completely green Omega. Once they revert they usually become more robust and grow bigger. I have Omega and it is a very tall canna with big spear head shaped leaves, over 12 feet tall with huge rhizomes that push up out of the ground sometimes. Not good to plant around other small plants as it will run them over. Probably be best to grow Stuttgart in water to keep it from burning as bad, one of its parents (Its a hybrid) is Canna Glauca a water canna. I have read epsom salt is supposed to reduce the burning as well.
