Oh you'll get seeds Cam...don't worry about that. Just get those babies up and growing and the rest is in the bag.

JaNan, you are just too funny...ft knox full of gold!

Yes Trina, have a look through the seed traders thread and I'll send ya a house warming present of seeds!

I thought you'd be impressed with that shot, JaNan. They are both doing so well. I just took that shot tonight and I showed a shot of the Jigsaw late last night if you scroll back.

I also showed the fish pepper yesteday in the hot pepper thread if you scroll back too.

I'm slower taking shots with no memory card, but more will come soon.

You'll have variegated Fish shortly, JaNan. It's an heirloom, you know?

No need to be envious JaNan...yours will be every bit as nice, you'll see.

Yup I'll post on the A-G site tonight.

I think Trina should ask her hubby for an A-G system as a house warming present!

Maybe he's broke though after the move and you guys buying a house.

Give it more time Cam. Fluctuating temps will make a difference, but they'll come up eventually.

I did not know it was an heirloom! Is it a family one?

I remember reading somewhere that you have been on a hunt most of your life hunting for a pepper that your Grandmother grew, is that the one?

Very interesting. I need to read up on it.

You really know how to yank my chain don't you?

Yeah it was a pepper she grew that went through a shade of true blue, even though some people on the hot pepper forum argued with me that it was impossible and that it must have just been a child's wild imagination!

I know what I saw and I just wish I knew where she got it from. She knew some very old gardeners. That's why I love Filius Blue...because it's the next best thing to actual bluish peppers. I'm getting the seeds soon.

Fish pepper is an African Heirloom hot pepper and it's like no other. The fruits are medium to mild hot and they're just perfect and recommended for salsa. The fact that even the fruits are variegated, sets it apart from many others. It's the perfect pepper for you to enjoy eating, JaNan.

I will grow one in the A-G one day, but I'll keep it pruned.

Is that where I read that story? I remember being fascinated by the story, but I was thinking it was on another website. I think a blue pepper would be amazing! And you don't know what it was called or anything other than what you remember. Was it an heirloom also? I guess it would have to be.

I wasn't as into gardening back then because I was a child, and I didn't ask her anything about them...I just played with the little fruits and loved them because they were blue. She grew this variety for years.

My mom remembers them and confirms that they were in fact blue for a time, before passing through another color stage. They were the most stunning things I ever saw! One day I will find them again.

For now though, Filius Blue will do.

Just wondering. What would happen if you poured some aerated worm tea into the AG?

Would it help the same way it does with regular plants and end up giving them a double boost?

Aerated worm tea seems to be a pretty cool way to bulk up some of my vegetables, but combining its effect with the AG might have some pretty cool results. I'm also going to experiment with the wall o water to hopefully get some plants even more accelerated growth outside. To top that off I have a plant steroid that I tried out on my hot peppers and I think either that or the aerated worm tea is causing them to branch like crazy and grow super bushy. Anyways just for kicks here's a picture of one of my bhut jolokia hot peppers. They are starting to crowd each other out in the seed rack since they grow so densely.

If it was strained really well it would probably work well. Stuff gets in through the filters and will clog up the pump. I know I have taken apart and cleaned 5 of them now. Don't take my word for it though, because I'm no expert! Sherry can probably give you some good advice on that.

Thumbs up Re: My Aero~Garden...

My pepper plants in the A-G are branching out incredibly too, Steve. It's a combination of good nutrients and good light that makes pepper plants branch and become more dense.

I would do some research on hydroponic gardening and adding worm tea, because I'm no expert on that. I think it'll likely be cool but I'd suggest you ask some folks on the aero-garden site that would know about that better than I would. I'm just new to hydroponic growing still.

I know I like to push the limits though and add things to my water basin that others might not. I decided to take it easy though now, since the plants are growing 'publically' and you guys would be disappointed if I killed them all, doing one my little experiments. I'm usually lucky though.

You should have posted that shot in the hot pepper thread Steve...so others can see it there too.

I would certainly be disappointed!

You know most of the folks there go strictly by the book! You probably do more with yours than they ever thought about trying. I see time after time, getting the kits. Where's the fun and excitement in that?

Thanks Trina! I love them too! I hope I can actually get this one to "tree" stage here. Here it is this morning!

I think this one is going to make it - my JigSaw (I hope) pepper:

I have two strawberry seeds with grow tails!

Redhead Lettuce

A new rooting/cloning experiment:

I have to include these two - the French Vanilla and the MicroTom - I just think they are making changes every day:

I have a royal empress tree that I cut to the ground annually, but the biggest problem with this tree species is that it causes a huge aphid infestation, every year so I don't want it to get that big. Cutting it back to the ground every year will let it keep those 2-3ft diameter leaves that it's known for, and it will still grow over 10ft tall each time it rises. Royal empress trees also propagate really easily because I've taken 3 inch pieces of roots and gotten trees to form from them which will grow as fast as sunflowers.

Another idea with the aero-garden is that it can be used to quickly root blue-berry cuttings especially since you can stick like 20 twigs into each sponge. I have about 50 blueberry plants of varying ages, some at fruiting age so I can probably use the aero-garden to speed up the process. It works by using juicy-roots cloning gel, however it still takes up to a month to get cuttings to root for me.
