How fast do hardy Chicago figs grow?
I found a hardy Chicago fig today at lowes, its about 1 1/2 feet tall. I was wondering if anyone knows fast these grow? I have a heated greenhouse I am going to put it in this winter to try to speed things up a little, but after that it will be left outdoors.

Re: How fast do hardy Chicago figs grow?
Not sure about the 'Chicago' but I bought a hardy 'Italian honey' fig that was about 3ft tall; that was 5 years ago. It's now about 10ft and producing 2 crops per year - it started producing a few edible fruits about 3 years ago and now gives us more than we can handle during the first crop; if the weather holds this year's second crop will also be "significant".
