Wow! Where do you keep all your flowers Sherry? In the house or a green house?

Re: The Hollyberry Lady's Plants and Flowers

Your flowers seem to be thriving indoors. My plants hate being inside because thats when all the bugs come and suck the life out of them. So far scale has been a common one and even my coconut is infested :( Cocos are my favorate palms and arent that easy to find north of florida.

Good luck and thanks for sharing those pics!

Re: The Hollyberry Lady's Plants and Flowers

Thanks!

I keep them all over really, Figafita...

in my apartment, in the laundry room, in the sunporch, in the gardens, under the lamps, etc. Space for plants here, is never a problem.

Anyway, although a crappy shot, here is my dwarf Negronne fig cutting, now rooted in a glas of water...

Re: The Hollyberry Lady's Plants and Flowers

Sherry, you do have a green thumb. You rooted Angel Trumpets in water and now fig cuttings. Wow! I tried to root both of them and I was not as successful as you. Good job!
Pat

Re: The Hollyberry Lady's Plants and Flowers

Thank you.

Also, something weird I noticed today...

My succulent plant, sent to me as a cutting from someone in Oklahoma, from another forum, is now air rooting!

The 2nd shot shows the roots that are forming...

You're most welcome, Joan!

Thank you for enjoying them, and for all your compliments as well. You are very kind.

To think that this is just the beginning of my pictures!

: o

I grow things all winter long also, and intend to show my plants throughout the cold months too. In Spring, I will show many new tulip and hyacinth bulbs I planted this Fall...

justjoan 11-12-2009 11:29 AM

Re: The Hollyberry Lady's Plants and Flowers

:woohoonaner: I will look forward to them, especially those over the winter, they will be bright spots during the day here at work!
I am sure folks think I'm not growing a thing, as I have not posted any pics yet, life has been a bit hectic of late and this site seems to be a bit different when it comes to posting them. I will figure it out soon! Thanks again!

Excellent indoor garden :D I still love the burrito plant and do I happen to see an amaryllis bulb in the BG in one of those pics? What kind :D

The Hollyberry Lady 11-16-2009 12:58 AM

Re: The Hollyberry Lady's Plants and Flowers

Yes, it's called 'Charisma' Miles - cool that you noticed it, since it's not currently in bloom.

I got the 'Burrito' baby burro's tail cuttings from someone in Oklahoma, and they rooted in the mail!

Wow! Beautiful flower you are expecting there! I cannot WAIT to see it in bloom! I am currently just growing run of the mill minerva and red lion. Just starting to get some green-ness popping up.

Re: The Hollyberry Lady's Plants and Flowers

Thanks, Pen.

Here's what seems to be the first bud on my Caerulea passiflora vine, that I waited 10 months to see - just noticed it now. Foyer is getting dark so the shot isn't super clear, as the vine is in the corner, but you can still see it...

Here's my seed grown "Silver Cup" Lavatera plant about to bloom...

As my freezer and jars are stuffed with hot peppers, I am drying these ones right on the plant, and noticed a lady bug was having a nap on one of the fruits...

Re: The Hollyberry Lady's Plants and Flowers

I'm intrigued with the lavatera. I'm thinking of tring the tree form; should be hardy where I am. Anyone growing it? Do I have to start it from seed, or can an established plant be bought? Thanks.

Re: The Hollyberry Lady's Plants and Flowers

Thanks, Pen.

Re: The Hollyberry Lady's Plants and Flowers

It is hard to believe, Pen. I have a box just for your seeds alone!

Did I tell ya I finally buried those 25 Glad bulbs you sent? Yup - along the fenceline, so I can stake them. I spaced them about half a foot.

I also buried those other corms you sent - the ones I hate the name of...did yours come up before frost, or no? Mine didn't emerge yet - maybe in Spring.

: )

PennyG 11-25-2009 01:21 PM

Re: The Hollyberry Lady's Plants and Flowers

Thats great Sherry:woohoonaner:.....no my corms didnt do anything, so like your's, hopefully in the spring they should sprout.
