I'm confused! What does JRM stand for?:ha:

Re: The Hollyberry Lady's Plants and Flowers

Thanks Joan! The seeds can be found everywhere - even on sidewalks. Someone is mailing me a few more seeds shortly - maybe I can share some with ya...

"JRM" stands for Japanese Red Maple.

Hollyberry, I have a lot of plants - esp indoors for winter, but I think you win the award for the most house plants inside LOL. They all look very healthy.

Re: The Hollyberry Lady's Plants and Flowers

I agree Patty, its like going to a greenhouse with homemade personality to see these plants. Hollyberry, I would love to try my hand at growing a JRM if you should find you have any extra seeds, will gladly pay for them. I just haven't seen any of this particular variety around here anywhere and I love them! :waving:

Re: The Hollyberry Lady's Plants and Flowers

Thanks Patty!

Joan, I would give you some maple seeds for free - a true gardener shares and doesn't charge money. Actually, charging for my stuff makes me cringe.

So yes, have a look around your own neighborhood and get a look at some red maples you really like. When it's the right time, return to the area and no doubt they'll be seeds blown around everywhere on the ground.

They really are easy to come by. I saw tons on my bike ride last evening from huge red maple trees. I like the dwarf kinds though even if they don't produce true to the parent tree.

My seedlings above came from seeds were collected from a Weeping Crimson Queen beauty.

Just remember; Some maples like red, silver, Norway, etc. have seeds in the spring. Japanese maples are in the fall.

Apparently you missed the shot of my "Incense" seedlings Bob? Remember, they're the ones you can't get to sprout.

I'll post another shot of my 8 inch tall vines again later today. By all means though Bob, let's see your 2 inch little sprouts (if that) from the mystery seeds I sent...
