![]() my friend brought me some cannas from the coast these where in a bag and some of the growth where up to 6 inches out of the bulb so I planted them in the ground a few inches deep and left 4 inches growing out above the ground. Attached is a pic of these question is did I plant these right? will this straighten up? is there anything I need to do?

![]() I have a lot of experience with cannas. They are pretty hard to do any malice as long as they have lotsa' water and sun. They'll do fine with those two ingredients. Good luck!

![]() Agreed. Enjoy! If you are zone 7b or warmer you should be able to leave 'em in the ground over the winter, if 7a, need a warm winter like this past one. Otherwise dig the corm after 1st frost to store.

![]() here in utah i plant my cannas musafolia on the deeper side.. but i plant them earlier than most.. just in case of a late frost.. which didnt happen this yr.. oh well..LOL
i plant mine with 4" of soil on top.. i also dig in deeper perlite,compost, and slow release fertilizer.. mine get total full sun ..and i keep them well watered.. depends on what variety you have.. my musafolia get huge.. 12ft+ tall and last yr.. almost all of them bloomed.. thats good for up here.. ![]() i give mine compost/rabbit manure tea fertilizing every week.. in addition to the watering.. i agree with sidpook.. lots of sun..lots of water.. keep the canna rhyzomes healthy.. fends off disease..and i wonder also virus'.. good luck to ya !!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

![]() I do use a natural potting soil and cow manure compost i plan on potting them in a much larger pot I just had to get them going they have been in a ziplock for 3 weeks. Are the fast growing?
