![]() I swear, after giving it some sun and all this rain, the thing looks fatter and has thrown out two leaves this week.

![]() Kubali, you're dead on. She just kept on trucking. Threw out a really long skinny leaf after this bunch, and now back to big full wide ones.
Weird plant though. I don't think I've ever seen a plant throw a leaf so fast or so tall in such a short time. I brought it inside, gave it an East-facing window and not much happened. Then I watered it thoroughly and I swear two leaves popped out and grew a foot each in less than a day. Amazing color too. I may have a new favorite...

![]() I know this is rather a late posting to this thread, but, what the heck. I've grown the Enset m. here in Buffalo, NY for several years in the ground. They grew very nicely too. In the fall before the heavy frost comes, I bent the leaves down and covered them with a blanket just to keep them warm. Once it really got cold, I would cut the leaves off and dig them up. I put them down in my cellar for the winter and had them sitting on an old pillow with plastic bags over the roots. I didn't water them or anything. They stayed dormant the entire winter and come spring when it got warm enough. Out they went into the garden once again.
Unfortunately, I can't attach a picture, but I'll try an put one in the gallery. Hope this gives you some help. Last edited by Planter56 : 04-05-2015 at 01:00 PM. |
