Well, we have 30+°C in summer, so hot for me would be around 40°C. 25°C is cool and 20°C is cold.
Many of my friends go to Scandinavia during summer, but I never found the time. Maybe when the next hockey world chamiponship starts...

Trust me Slavs have one of the nicest and kindest approaches. I also liked French approach, but they are somewhat Slavic in behavior too.

To help you guys out of a dream: Musa basjoo 'Red'that is available here in Europe has nothing to do with basjoo, and has no basjoo-blood in it whatsoever. It is just a tropical species and won't even survive an unheated greenhouse.
From my point of view I think some people in some TC lab messed something up, and switched/mislabeled a batch. On progressing of growth someone saw red markings and must
have thought 'hey cool, a red mutant of Musa basjoo, lets try to TC that one even more!'.
I've read (on a German forum I believe) that it is sopposudly Musa rubra (Musa rubra).
By accident, and considering Musa Rubra=Musa Dwarf Red, I have both species living in my little garden. Basjoo plant is slightly taller than the Dwarf plant. So here are some pics, to see for yourself. What do you think, I think Griphuz might have a point here

Nice Marguerite, I thought about it too, but looking at the speed I would say it would have to be more like Tall Red. Also the elaves are much larger than dwarf's that's slightly taller.

Yep. Didn't want to throw it away as it is for at least dozen shippings. At first I wanted to keep it as memento, but then, I believe that the box will return here someday. Maybe more than once. Covered with lots of shipping stamps. Look behind your address paper. You will see a Croatian post office stamp there.

Next time I will pack you a strawberry too. The most delicious cultivar I've ever tasted. Yummy. Easy to propagate, easy to grow, easy to harvest, delicious to eat.

I forget to mention that plant behind "Balana" girl in first pix is also from one of mine European trades.
Last year I have traded Olive seedling for it .

Make it a double Yahooooo!!!! Some Indian lady I've never met stopped by the the house other day and wanted to know all about my bananas. I showed her the Darjeeling Giant and also told her about the PK. She seemed fascinated. Don't think she was a gardener though.
