I am just curious, what is your heating system?

Your setup with the shade cloth and capillary matting is quite innovative for managing heat and humidity! For heating, have you considered a ductless mini split HVAC system? I know a gardener in a similar climate who struggled with temperature swings in their greenhouse until they installed one.

They had a lean-to structure like yours and found that a mini-split with a heat pump worked perfectly—efficiently cooling in summer and providing consistent warmth in winter without taking up valuable growing space. The best part? Since it’s ductless, they didn’t have to worry about complex installation or losing bench space to vents.

They also used reflective sheeting (like your right wall) to maximize light diffusion and paired it with a small fan to circulate air, preventing mold. Between the shade cloth, capillary matting, and mini-split, their greenhouse stayed within the ideal range year-round.

Your algae prevention method with Physan 20 is smart—I’ve heard of others using diluted hydrogen peroxide as a cheaper alternative to bleach, though it may not be as strong. Have you noticed any difference in root intrusion since using the matting?
