Truly Tiny WTF!

Why does one of my truly tiny's keep pushing out bent leaves?!?! Is it something I'm doing? One is fine but the other has pushed out one leaf that came out almost ninety degrees and tore the leaf below it on its way out. It's on its second leaf this way. WTF.

Are both equally fertilized?

They are both in ocean forest potting soil amended with 5-5-5 Fox farm fertilizer. I will also water with a fish/kelp solution or compost tea about once a week.

just a thought - sometimes my nanas grow too fast and push cigars early if I over do it - doesn't sound like that is the reason...

Would heat cause this? I'm in San Diego and it was pretty hot here the last two weeks. 95+ during the day.

I moved both TT,s more into the shade this morning. I'll monitor them to see if this continues.

My truly tiny does that leaves come out bent to one side normally away from the window and they end up crinkled I think the heat might cause this because it is in a sun room

Here in TX it has been around 100F for several weeks and none of mine are doing it. Only time I see things like this on any of my varieties is after I fertilize or during times of heavy rain. It's nothing just let the plant do its thing and it will correct. If it doesn't correct I would hold back the fertilizer a little and see what happens.

It is not bent, it just looks bent. After the leaf emerges from the pseudostem it unfurls and lays down, the left side of the leaf unfurled and laid down but the right side didn't unfurl because the tip of the next leaf is preventing it. It will eventually tear the leaf or you can gently pull the tip out and let it unfurl.

My dwarf reds do the similar thing....I will post a pic when the next one happens..

The cool thing is that ....the new leaf pushes on......

They seem healthy and continue to push out new leaves. It sucks the leaves are tearing a little bit close to the pseudostem as they flip open. The second TT had it's first goofy leaf so now they're both like that.

I'm definitely a noob at nanner cultivation, so I hope it's not something I'm doing. It doesn't bother me very much, so as long as they keep growing and/or looking healthy, I'm going to blame it on east county weather in San Diego.

Thanks for the info. Will skip any extra liquid feeds the next week or so and stick with water as they need it. Since they're in the clay pots and it's been so warm, I've had to water them almost every day.

Thanks for chiming in. I value your input here.
I tried to help it along, but didn't want to tear the leaf. Lo and behold when I get home from work it's open with a little tear. Seems normal then.

Thanks for easing my troubles about the leaves.
