Sick Alaskan dwarf cavendish
My bananas are 2 yrs old. They have been indoors full time. Never had any problems until this fall when leaves started to turn brown. Now growth has really slowed down , but with limited daylight I would expect that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I haven't fertilized since spring and I water only when first inch of soil is dry. I have pics on my gallery.

You can't post images to the Internet directly from your hard drive like that. You should try an image hosting site such as Photobucket or Imgur if the gallery isn't working for you.

Re: Sick Alaskan dwarf cavendish
have you done anything differently? changed your watering schedule or not increased it since the plants got larger? are they sitting close to a heat source where they might be drying out more than in the summer? did you look for spider mites on the bottom sides of the leaves? have they been or do they need repotting?it might not hurt to give them some very dilute fertilizer if all of the above have been checked. really that should have been done in the summer when they should have been growing more with more light, but better late than never if they are still growing.

Re: Sick Alaskan dwarf cavendish
the way the bottom leaves are drooping and bending kind of indicates that it has been too dry at least a few times. That doesn't even mean necessarily right now, as it could have happened at some time in the past. Did the leaves just start folding down? they usually drop leaves like that in response to water stress, less leaves=less water needed. also you can take scissors and trim the brown areas off the other leaves that are damaged and that will make your plant look better and it won't hurt it.

Re: Sick Alaskan dwarf cavendish
I would inspect the root ball before adding anything.

Re: Sick Alaskan dwarf cavendish
You should look for any obvious problems.
You probably repotted that plant in the past and remember what it looked like.

Re: Sick Alaskan dwarf cavendish
Nice. I got one right there with yours. I may force it at the end of June early July just so I can have it fruiting during the summer months when it's actively growing a lot
