Banana Seed Germination Forum As one of the toughest seeds in the plant kingdom to figure out the keys to germination success with, this is a forum with banana seed germination tips. Please entitle posts like "Musa balbisiana," or "Musa cheesmani," etc. People would then post a reply under that heading, sharing their germination successes (and failures), what materials and methods they used, germination percentage, etc.

Default Thai black germination?

hey guys. I'm newbie on this forum as well as starting bananas from seed. In the past I've only grown them from pups or slightly mature plants. I ordered fresh (supposedly) seeds from musa balbisiana Thai black or atia black. Ive read so many posts here and watched videos and read articles and I'm stuck on what method to use. I have a plant and seed heating mat so I was thinking about doing 1 part wet vermiculite to 3 parts dry in a baggie on the heating mat with the mat turned on during the day then unplug it at night. does this sound ok or? I guess I'm over thinking it and I'm prepared to wait months. any tips or methods will be greatly appreciated. thank you

thank you! glad to know I'm going to do something somewhat right. I think the hardest part is going to be my impatient self waiting. I think ill work on a regular garden in the time which can't hurt. I just hope to get at least 1 to germinate but the more the better. also good luck on your seeds too! heard those are a pretty one.
