I’m happy to report that the order from Florida Hill finally arrived in great condition. From the pictures I’ve seen, they appear to be Mohois.

Hawaii tends to be pretty strict about any bananas coming in to the state due to the BBTV risk. Gabe could fill you in, I'm sure, or you could check the state's website for more info. You don't want to be caught bringing in bananas. Seriously. They do not have a sense of humor about that.

I recently saw some double Mahoi's at either Lowes or Home Depot - can't remember which - near Pearl City, but don't know if that would help. They gotta be getting them from a local grower somewhere around here.

well yeah any legit nursery knows this. You are lucky you didn't get caught, but if you did you would most likely just get "the letter" and then put on a list. You could get fined.
I bet your plants weren't even labeled on the box. Otherwise they would have been refused entry.
I know, I'm a legit nursery who's had this happen, accidentally shipping things to Hawaii.

Quarantine is for 1 year in which YOU pay for the quarantine service.

Last Saturday I saw double mahoi for sale at Koolau Farms in Kaneohe. Not too far from the Hawaiian memorial park cemetery if you know where that is. I think they wanted $44 for each one. (pricey)
