hi everyone,
I'm italian but next july I'll go to New York, I would like to buy something like plumeria, cordyline, but mostly bananas How can I do this ? I'm searching these varieties: - siam ruby - praying hands - ae ae - sweethearth - veinte cohol e lady fingers - pisang susu - pisang klotek - pisang mas I don't know if there are better varieties, but I have to buy from which nursery according to you ? In New York directly or for example from Florida to me in New York ? And then for the trip to coming back to Italy in order to avoid whatever problem with custom, what I would do ? Obviously no earth but only bulb, but there are limits of plants? in the suitecase ? thanks |

Not sure if customs would take it but I don't think I would risk it with those expensive bananas.

with the bananas I would get the smallest corms you can get...peel them and seal them in plastic..will take longer to grow but you will have them non the less...Plumeria..10 inch cuttings, well callused over and again wrapped in plastic..should help in the case you do get caught..

The US has no export restrictions; where you could run into problems is entering back into Italy, so it's the Italian import regulations you should be looking into.
