Corms for Sale: Veinte Cohol, Dwarf Brazilian, Pisang Ceylon, PR Morado (More Soon)
As stated, I have corms (one each) of Veinte Cohol, Dwarf Brazilian, Pisang Ceylon, and PR Morado. The VC and Pisang Ceylon are the only "smaller" corms and are probably the only two that would fit together in a medium flat-rate USPS box. The Dwarf Brazilian and Puerto Rican Morado are enormous--even bigger than PR-Giant's usual--and would probably each occupy one flat-rate box entirely on their own. I have fruited every one of these mats and verified the identity of each plant. Anyone who gets the DB or Morado corms will be greeted by a stunning flush of growth in short order. No plants have ever exhibited signs of sigatoka, and I have never observed either corm or stem weevils in my field.
SOLD 6/30: Dwarf Brazilian SOLD 6/30: PR Morado SOLD 7/5: Pisang Ceylon SOLD 7/5: Veinte Cohol Price per corm: $20 Price per USPS Medium Flat-Rate Box: $13.45 P.S. One each of Tigua and Patupi will be available within the next month. I'm not taking reservations since those plants are in such high demand, but the first two people to respond to that sales post get 'em. Again, because of demand, I'm breaking up the short-cycle twins, so if you miss out on the Tigua, you'll get the Patupi (if that's amenable); and if you miss out on the Patupi, you'll get the Tigua. Ohhhhh! Everyone loves surprises! The price and terms will be the same. Last edited by tanfenton : 07-06-2016 at 02:24 PM. |

We just replaced our A/C yesterday to the tune of a few grand on the c.c. or I would take your VC... As it is, I would be shot.

any photos of the VC growing in your yard? I think the TC banana business has built a crazy amount of mistrust in the banana world....

Re: Corms for Sale: Veinte Cohol, Dwarf Brazilian, Pisang Ceylon, PR Morado (More Soo
The VC seems to me to be one of the hardest of bananas in standard circulation to misidentify. The AgriStarts TCs seem to be reliable to this point. My mat started its life there in Apopka, as have the plantings of many members. Above is a picture of said plant producing its second of three bunches to date. |

Helping Out Tanfenton
Yeah those Puerto Rican Morado & Verdin are absolutely enormous and it's almost impossible to find one small enough to fit in those boxes. It took forever to find that enormous Puerto Rican Verdin I sent you for free a few weeks ago.
FYI those boxes are 5.5 inches thick, so just get a nice clean knife and start cutting. I haven't had much time to do many corms this year and most of them have been for free anyways, but I've got a ton of Patupi in my nursery now and can help "try to relieve a bit of the pressure on you to send stuff". I normally send this stuff out for free now but will match your terms on the Patupi so that everyone stays happy. Price per corm: $20 Price per USPS Medium Flat-Rate Box: $13.45 Quote:

Helping Out Tanfenton
For all the folks getting the "even bigger" Tanfenton usual, these things sound like they're going to be bigger than the box they come in, so be careful when opening.
a normal Veinte Cohol pup a normal Puerto Rican Verdin pup, it's on the tailgate of a F150. a normal Free Green Manini pup Just received this photo last night, it appears that the Free Green Manini pup in the above photo put out some variegated leaves. It's no longer a Free Green Manini, it's a Free Variegated Manini now.

Re: Corms for Sale: Veinte Cohol, Dwarf Brazilian, Pisang Ceylon, PR Morado (More Soo
The VC is just a babe compared to PR-Giant's, but she still wants a good home. VC and Pisang Mas both sucker for me in this elongated fashion now and then:
The Pisang Ceylon was a bit more substantial than I anticipated. I'll call it Standard PR-Giant Size, which is definitely not to be confused with Massive PR-Giant Size, ala the Verdin and Manini above. She also wants a good home: |

Congratulations on your recent acquisition of a stellar Manini rhizome. Did you classify it as a PR-Giants 'Usual' 'Standard' or 'Massive'.
And thanks for the 'Nubs', it's always great to sell one Manini and get 2 more back for free.

Congratulations on your 'Yamunamba' acquisition.
Here's some info from the Florida trials and a link on how well they grow in SoCal, both are from about a decade ago. More Kumunamba Pix They are certainly beautiful corms.

Re: Corms for Sale: Veinte Cohol, Dwarf Brazilian, Pisang Ceylon, PR Morado (More Soo
Checked them today, and we have vigorous roots on both! Was concerned as the tops seemed to be dead, but with roots comes bananas!
I did not have any sand to use when I got them, but, being Florida, all I have is sand, so I planted them in the ground. Most things prefer the ground, anyway, and it seems to be working. Thanks!

There's a tiny speck of green coming out on the VC and the PC seems to be getting a bit "higher" in the center now, too. I will get pics when there is something substantial on both.
