A lady on craigslist had some bananas for sale, then one of her pstems fell over and she wanted to cut and sell before they started to yellow.

I love her mat, I think they are about 9' tall thick pstem but skinny vegetation. She has about 5 bunches total she is selling, if they plump before frost. Here is a picture of the bunch I got. I'm worried the edges are alittle angular on some. But one part seems to be turning yellow. ![]() ![]() if they aren't going to ripen are they old enough for tostones?

It was dark yesterday when I went out. Next time I hope to get some pictures that way I can identify (well the forums can) the banana variety. Hers are growing well here so I'd like to get some of whatever variety it is. I'm guessing orinoco or namwah maybe

			 Just as a follow up...

They did ripen. They did taste great. I don't think they were orinoco. They had a very fruity taste like apple - pineapple. So by the orinoco descriptions I don't think that is what they were. Once pups start emerging this spring I'm going back to the lady and trying to buy a pup. I'll also take pictures so you guys can help me ID the banana.
