What to do with the Siam?

I was admiring my Siam tonight and asked myself, what am I gonna do with her this winter. Usually I put the lil ones and pups in my small greenhouse and the large one's go under the house. I don't get enough sun in the house to bring her in so that's out. She's a mid size nana about 6' and an Orinoco that size would winter fine under the house but being a red, I don't know. Kinda hard since no one really knows about it's hardiness. I'm still tossin thoughts around. I guess I got a while yet, but I want to be more prepared this year. What are you other cool climate growers planning to do with your prized Siam? Oh yea, I will be wintering a pup in the GH for backup.

This is a good question as I have 3, 2 will come into my office and the third will go unde the house, let's re examine what worked this sprng.

I plan to bring at least one inside as a backup and leave the remaining, and largest, pstem in the ground to test it's hardiness. My zebrinas ususally die back practically to the ground each winter and then bounce back well as soon as it warms again. I'm hoping the Siam will do the same.

The pups are coming inside; the Momma will test my zone 7 winter outside with protection.

well the siams AEAE and the tandory red as well as the EV are all comin in side there all prity small have 10,000 candal grow light set up for them but if the green house gets done then they are going in there still working on the side yard its kinda slow with the intensaty of the heat thats my interum plane but are grow season gose untill the end of dec so iv got along time to decide for sure

I have half of a 2 car garage in which to keep them out of the wind and cold. I was hoping to have someone knit a p-stem warmer for them, but maybe that's going to far???
Something in a bright yellow might be nice though......

use straw its cheaper and will work the same way.

i will be bringing pups inside this winter(gonna start taking pups off in 2 weeks i want to see green in my den this winter so hopefully some will be growing and not go dormant)....and will buy walmart out of their bubble wrap and tarps. will also be using straw, and bagged leaves for my saba, oronicos, d.o.'s. the d.cavadish, musellas,ornatas will have mulch and a tarp cover. the rest are in pots so they will be brought in.

Mine is still trying to recover from last winter, and having a plant fall on it probably didn't help. The mom died, but I still have a couple of pups growing. It is in the ground zone 10 and took a beating from the little cold we get here. I would refrain from testing hardiness on one I planed on keeping!
