Eddie: it was a pleasure to meet you today. Hope that the plants will grow well and will fruit fast for you. I am so glad that we did not have to trim off the leaves of the Namwah

one is clearly doing better then the other.

Let us know how you like the taste of that Cali gold when it produces Orinoco fruit.

If you have the space, let them grow. They look dry or perhaps too wet (see note below) or hungry. I'm a weirdo about potting unhappy plants so I'd put them into nice big pots with some good dirt then feed and water them as needed so I had control over their destiny.

Note: I have only 1 in the ground where I am; she's a DC from Lowes purchased on Mother's Day. I originally planted her where I thought she'd be happy; she drooped horribly. I moved her 6' to the right to a bit drier area; despite no care from me her leaves are now 4' long and they're about 4' or more over my head. (BTW, I'm not a dwarf; I stand about 5'4" in my doddering old age. She's become a landmark in a neighborhood where the few 3 year old bananas people have planted are 3' tall with 1' leaves at best.)

I dug up and separated my bananas, then replanted some - Does that count?

See photos of how I did it.

Way too close together. Try 8ft apart and 3 ft from fence/wall. Big mess in 3 years.

Ouch, I told Papito not too close.

First few years will be wild. Once I identify all of my other 20 sharing the same spacing ratio ,lol, I'll be able to weed out the java from the ice cream.

Im keep it at 2-3 per matt

First year growing anything btw.

Edit: ^ we planted her around aug2012. The beginning of my madness which you see present day.

Sorry for getting off topic

I would have a hard time finding a plant that size to drop in. out side of my own yard. I have weather envy when I see such big plants this time of year.
