A rose banana. Had it for almost a week now, but I've been holding off planting it due to greenhouse design conflicts.

Well Rob, I don't see anything that says it's not a Goldfinger, so maybe you got the right thing this time! Good luck.

Thanks! It's hard to see if the photo, but I just checked and there is a thin red line at the edge of the leaves. As far as down the petiole, do you mean the same line on the edge of the leaf continues to the edge of the petiole or do you mean the petiole itself in red in the middle or on the back side like some others?

Check the photo gallery, you might find evidence that it should or shouldn't.

Good Luck and hope it is a FHIA-01.
Thanks, and I've seen those GRIN pictures too which helped me rule out that the other 2 supposed GFs weren't. It does seem like the male bud is quite distinctive so if not before, at least I should be able to ID it then.

I also have a "likely" SH-3640 which coconut Chris told me he was told was a Nang Faya. Whatever it is, it's quite different from this possible GF, and it has a less pronounced red line on the leaf edge which is more prominent on the petiole edge but with no red in the petiole canal.

Do you have a photo with some red?

I remember the red outline when the plants were small but I also remember goldfinger being a dark green when it matures. Who knows ,

Great shots, all about the same stage that mine is, and yeah I see that it does look more like the SH-3640. The galleries were sort of helpful, as it's hard to know which were real or not. And from other photos I've seen it does seem like it's totally green when mature. If mine turns out to be an SH-3640 then I won't be too upset. This was a TC that started life at Agristarts, and I don't see it available on their site currently, or know if they have sold TCs of it recently.

After 3 months and two weeks I got my first banana pup out of the plants I got while on vacation on P.R. It was a lot faster than I thought and I still have 5 more growing up fast, nice!

Probably Dwarf Cavendish or Super Dwarf Cavendish by the looks of it. Very short petioles with wide open wings.
