Default Watering?

In the summer heat of south florida by 1:00 pm, it looks as if my bananas are parched...leaves go completely wilted. I try and water them twice a day. Any thoughts on a watering regimen? Should I allow them to wilt or prevent them from happening entirely?

I water my bananas via drip, twice a day. During parties in the yard, to prevent the wilted look, I use the mist setting and target the leaves with my garden hose. They look "cool" afterwards, lasting until the afternoon when it is cooler and won't need any more misting. But I don't do the misting everyday.

Sean,
Wilting in the midday is normal even with moist soil. Don't worry too much about the willting as long as there is regular irrigation or rain.
