In expanding your gardens and shrinking your lawns, be sure to keep open pathways in mind. I almost closed off the back section of my yard (where its too shady for bananas) until some rearranging resolved the problem!!

I don't have grass anymore. It's all mulch and/or stones. I have all potted stuff kinda scattered wherever I want. Nice not to worry about cutting grass.

I think you have way too many bananas. You need to send your excess plants to Tennessee right away.

Haven't had grass for 25 years - just fruit trees and bananas. If you really need grass, sugar cane is a grass and doesn't require mowing.

Don't worry about the paths, just invest in a good machete for when you need to get to the far corners.

Greg,
You better keep an eye on your family, friends, and neighbors that don't understand the banana thing, they may start planning an intervention.

I know what your talking about. I really think there use to it. When I first started growing things I started with roses. I had over 300 diffrent kinds.I just got rid of my tree roses I had left now I have one red rose bush im saving for mom and three mini roses and another rose bush in the back I got from a freind before they left for Arizonia. Before roses it was bud as in budweiser. Im actually better now as far as addiction goes. I will be ok thanks.

If you get a nice stand of bananas growing, that is well manicured, people will drive from miles around to see it. Nothing like lots of lush bananas to say "tropical".
