Okay, mine died like nearly everyone else's. Quite a while ago someone posted some photos of theirs that was still growing, maybe a couple of folks. It's mid-summer now and I'd like to know if these are still alive and how they are doing. Have they pupped? Show us your pictures, please!!!

She's not too big considering she's about a year old, only about 18" tall. But there's two new leaves.
FYI those aren't pups in there. They're green spider plants. They bloom and seed into everything. No pups yet!

Doesn't anyone else have one? I thought at least one more person said they had one that was still alive this spring.

Mine finally died too.
I was so proud of myself this spring as I had kept mine looking pretty good all winter in the house. I was not careful enough with all the rain we have been having and I know I let it get too wet. I may try again someday. But right now I think I just stick with ones that are not quit so picky. Jane |

I spoke with the producer of the Namwah Pearl's a few weeks ago, and he said they were completely unaware that everyones plant dies and no one can get them past about a foot. They hadn't even grown them out for their own testing, but he said they would and see whats up.

Sorry about not updating on this ,but i have been very busy this summer with work, GF, etc.. but mine after 2 years and about 11 inches of growth died about a month ago. Not sure why it decided to leave this world as it was looking pretty good. But after a week of declining heath, it kicked the bucket.
I will try another later on sometime down the road. But it seemed to like filtered sunlight all day(no direct sun) even watering, and some fertilizer. No temps under 55F. This plant has to be babied. Like i said before, i think this musa thinks its a cactus. But its worth another try. ![]()

Maybe those spider plants are absorbing any excess water she throws at them?!

Yeah, mine kicked the bucket too. It was doing really well up until late spring when it suddenly went into decline. It will be interesting to hear what the producer has to say once they try growing some of theirs out.

Maybe I should put in another ad--the only surviving Namwah pearl known to man--will trade for ae ae, LOL.
I thought maybe when I'd grown all the others I'd be about up to the challenge of a $100 plant. Hydrojeff, glad to hear your plants are doing well, and that plant isn't a balsa, it's solanum quitoense, aka naranjilla. They come in two kinds, a spiny one, and a fuzzy one. That one is a fuzzy one, I also have the spiny one. What did I win?
