Default Pup Stops Growing?

One of my orinoco bananas has two pups. The pups were growing fast in the beginning of summer, but about two or three weeks ago growth halted completely. One of the pups didn't even finish extending its leaf out after it opened. The main plant is still growing, although it is growing slower than my other two orinoco bananas. Any advice? Should I chop the pups off at ground level to stimulate better growth of the main plant?

I would take the pups off so all the energy go to the main plant.
