Question No pups yet....should I be worried?

I have a couple Basjoos & an Apple Manzano that are pretty tall now. The Basjoos are at least 6’ and the Apple is about 8’. However, they haven’t had any pups yet. Should I be worried? Could it be b/c they’ve been in the house all winter? Thanks in advance!

Different varieties send out a lot more pups than others.
Also if they were near dormant inside the house they won't be sending out any pups. The corm needs to be actively growing with warm temperatures.

I have several bananas that have not pupped yet and I also have several that pup like crazy.

For me I have found these varieties send out several suckers like crazy - Orinoco, Dwarf Cavendish, Niño

I'm growing 2 different Manzano I got last year - one was a Tissue Culture and the other a true sword pup I bought online.
Surprisingly the sword sucker has not given me a pup yet but the Tissue Culture one has - just one though.

Don't know about the manzano, but if your basjoo is healthy, it is only a matter of time before you have pups coming out the.........there will be a lot of pups,, don't worry

You know now that you mention it, it does make sense that some varieties pup more often than others! I am so relieved to know that you have a couple plants that haven’t pupped yet! Whew! It’s pretty interesting that the TC has had a pup but the sword pup didn’t! Too !

Thank you veyr much for the reassuring words! I feel much better now!
