![]() I've got two banana plants in the ground right now, one is a Gros Michel and one is a Blue Java. Every year, I usually pull them out of the ground and put them in one of my rooms with some sun and a grow light, then take them back out once weather stabilizes. But this year, my blue java really shot up. It is now over 10 ft tall. I'd hate to cut off this growth at the end of the season and would really like to see what happens with this if I were to maintain it. Does anyone have any suggestions for potentially keeping the banana going once fall and winter comes? I live in Ohio, zone 5 or 6, depending on which scale you use, so some kind of protection is a must.
