Default Is Musa "Ice-Cream" the same as Namwah?

Hey all!
I would like to get into growing bananas. At the moment I will have to grow them indoors but later on I want to go further. As a starter I'd like to get a tall namwah banana since I saw those everywhere on my vacation in Vietnam. Because of my location I have a limited number of shops I can order one from. I only find Musa "Dwarf Namwah", not the "tall" variety. Is the Dwarf version the same appearence-wise? Also, they don't have any pictures of the young plant so I don't know if I should really risk ordering blind...

Alternatively they also have Musa "Ice-Cream" which they say is not "Blue Java" but instead "closer to namwah". I've only heard of "Ice-Cream" being used for Blue Java or for Namwah, not for anything in between... Could this just be tall namwah?
https://www.lamaisondubananier.com/b...mwah&results=2

What would you do? Order both? Wait for a third shop to restock their dwarf namwah where I can see a picture of a pup and order only it? https://www.achat-vente-palmiers.com...rf-namwah.html

Thank you in advance!

Very different, but if you buy an Ice Cream/Blue Java at a big box store, odds are nearly 100% it will be a Tall Namwah.

100% different plants. Blue java are actually surprisingly rare as they are sometimes confused with namwa.

They look very similar when growing and seem to be equally cold-hardy in my area but the fruit is very different. I was fortunate enough to get a BJ pup in the summer of 2021 and it fruited the following year. Probably 100 fingers on that thing but being the storm-magnet that it is got popped before they filled out. Gorgeous rack though.

Now the question is: is the store I linked a big box store? To me it seems like they specialized on banana plants

I'm located in Germany! I think I've found another seller in Germany, though, who has been selling these species for quite a while

Definitely not Ice Cream, looks more like Namwah

Ice Cream has a distinctive grey/blue color.

So is "Ice-Cream" the same as "Blue Java"? Because they explicitly say on the product page that Musa "Ice-Cream" is not Musa "Blue Java"

The real true "Ice cream" is and can only be a BLUE JAVA.
If they are calling it Ice Cream and it's not Blue Java, then it's NOT an "Ice Cream"

Ah, I see! Then they probably sell Tall Namwah as "Ice-Cream". By the way, which book is this?
