Re: Lou Ferrigno's Special Day
Looks like Lou has been hitting the weights and the vitamins, “cough, cough” vitamins over the past year.

I did pull off a couple of pups today and when I pulled back the mulch there were two stud pups coming up. That thing is a freak. |
Re: Lou Ferrigno's Special Day
DANG that thing is a BEAST!
I still find it amazing that you got away with putting a Tissue Culture straight on the ground in full sun :ha: When I didn't know any better I tried doing that and the plants quickly said NOPE! Perhaps it's because the sun is scorching hot here in Texas, we're already in the 90s where I'm at. Jul-Aug can hit 100+ |

Re: Lou Ferrigno's Special Day
10th of the month and that means cake and ice cream. One of his kids has passed the old man up and another right on his heels. Yes I should be managing the pups but I didn't, so probably no fruit. All good with me I'm in it for the landscape aspect. Here they are today:

One of the pups I managed to hack off at the end of April and planted immediately. Taken this morning:

Re: Lou Ferrigno's Special Day
Looking Fantastic :woohoonaner:
On another note: So pups sometimes overtaking/growing as tall as the main is okay? A couple of my sumatrana x cross pups and one of the Kokopo pups are nearly outgrowing the main stalks --even though everyone looks as healthy as can be I had wondered if that was normal or not. :) |

Well I tried to take some off earlier this year but only got three. The beast went crazy and next thing you know it flowered. Everything else is continuing to blow up. No slowing down and that one on the right is approaching 10' of pstem and throwing another leaf as we speak. The pup I planted in the ground already has 4 pups (hacked off very end of April). To answer you question, I guess it is ok. Would Lou have given me more fruit? Maybe but there looks to be about 70 fingers on round one. Now I'm hoping Lou #2 doesn't flower this year. That would be tragic. My X Cross is not growing super fast but I kept it in a pot until last week so maybe it will jump over the next 2 months. Both truly tinys are getting big, both super healthy. |

:woohoonaner::goteam: And my main X Cross didn't grow very fast either, at first, but the pups sure are. They're funny that way I suppose :ha: |
