Some people just like a surprise 2 years later I think. As a collector I just don’t get it? Looking at price. You save $10-$20 for a tiny plant. Pea size corm vs baseball/softball size pup corm? Most of the time that is the shipping cost! Plus how much $$ and time are you investing into that mystery plant just to be a double of something you have, etc.

There are alot of sellers on and off here who send correct and true to type plants! Ask around on here if you can’t find one.

FHN is like a box of chocolates (in my best Forrest Gump voice). I've ordered twice. Received both orders.
They were not the fastest shippers but I think of them like ebay sellers: they get here when they get here.

They don't answer e-mail. But I seem to recall there being a number on one of the review sites.

I live about 20 minutes away from them here in Florida.

My Nam Wah is the only one that appears to have been correctly labeled.

Have a Gros Michel and Mahoi that have yet to be ID'd. Trying to upload photos here for a couple days.

Let's not lump all ebay sellers in that bag. I being one am not like that.

This is a fact.

I've had several orders so far this year from Florida Hill and have found them to be the fastest shippers of any vendor I've ever bought from both with bananas and palm trees(what I mostly buy)

It's sad that they have a CONTACT US tab on their site they seem to ignore. You shouldn't be in business and offer a mode of contact that you won't respond to.

Since this thread resurfaced...I need to post an update on my TC's soon. They didn't really do much in the shade. They were frail, slow growing, and the leaves were small. As soon as I gave them some sun they completely turned on. The Dwarf Namwah is out-growing the Dwarf Cavendish and is such a vigorous plant. Although, the larger Cavendish I have seems to have stronger leaves and is more wind resistant.

I also have a Dwarf Brizillian about the same size as the TC's that I'm enjoying. My Larger Namwah and Cavendish are both growing well despite my stupidity with liquid fertilizer. They have recovered nicely. It only affected them for about a month.

I'll update with pics soon. They are not very big, but who doesn't enjoy pics.

Both my Dwarf Namwah and Cavendish were labeled correctly. Not sure if they're dwarfs, but I'm sure of the variety, because I have two larger plants to compare to.

So I bought this "Blue Java" in May of last year. Didn't get any shipment confirmation, but then it just showed up. Sounds like it's pretty unlikely it will be Blue Java, but I'm wondering what you guys think.

That's Lou Ferrigno's cousin. Lou was a Nam-Java but has since fruited and looks as if it's a namwah. Gorgeous plant though and I never thought I'd be able grow such a thing much less get edible fruit. If you really want a Blue Java buy a pup from a verified/credible source.

I have a chance to get a Blue Java this summer. My local H-E-B grocery store had about 30 of them. They had them in sky blue 3 gallon pots and I thought that was odd so I went and looked at the tag and sure enough all blue Java. I didn’t buy one because they grow too tall and I’m not a fan of how they look. They look like tall skinny plants to me. After watching a lot of videos about blue Java and people that tasted them, I didn’t like the feedback. They are apparently really soft and mushy. Taste is not what it’s made out to be. A lot of times they fail to produce that nice blue color.

The powder blue on the bananas is definitely subject to soil and climate conditions. My spring blue java bunch had a much more blue look than my september bunch. I think the blue java is a product of great marketing and scarcity of real specimens being sold commercially.

Would you say their hardiness is similar to a namwah? The pup I got from Donald is doing very well but may only have 4' of pstem before things quit. Wondering if I should pull it.

I doubt they were real blue java.

All of my bananas except two are TCs from FHN, I fell for the blue java but it looks to be the tall namwah. It's extremely vigorous I also got it in May of 2020 and it's putting out it's first flower right now. The Goldfinger I got also in that order has nearly ripe bananas already. I put them directly into the ground after getting them. I ordered a praying hands a few months ago and it's doing great, I hope it really is a praying hands! The three I got first back in Oct 2019: raja pisang, dwarf namah and basjoo honestly didn't do well as I was a beginner at growing in florida sandy soil. The basjoo promptly died and didn't look well from the beginning honestly, but not sure why I bought it in the first place, I live in the perfect climate for growing the real ones! wish I had potted those three so I could figure out how to grow them first. I'm finally getting the hang of things and really excited about my first rack of bananas!
