Sadly, I appears I may not receive the TC’s from Florida Hill Nursery. After not receiving any tracking and I’m unable to call (no phone number) I decided to goggle for reviews (should have did this initially).

I found several other people with the same complainants. No response to multiple emails and unable to call. I sent 3 emails now with no response. Plants were ordered on 5/15/21. I trying to have hope, but was wondering if anybody has received their plants from here or may know anything about the company. I know some of you guys are in Florida.

they will all be incorrectly labeled anyway, lesson learned FHN sucks bigger than any other "legitimate" online nursery in the USA.

I assume you paid with a credit card, look at your statement to see if a 800 phone number is given. Then call it..... also give FHN another 2 weeks after the date they stated it would be shipped, then call your credit card company to have the charge reversed; but do so before 60 days after the order. Give the resone as the product ordered was NOT delivered. The card company then must reverse the charges. .... I just did this with a merchant on a $101.00 order that went through PayPal. PayPal wouldn't reverse the charge so I had my card company to reverse the charge against PayPal.


The FTC rule is that the charges MUST BE reversed if
* The product ordered was not delivered... OR
* the product delievered was not what was ordered
.... contrary to what the seller may tell you, the product delievered is not required to be returned by the FTC rules. So the return should be paid by the seller if they really want it back
* the product was not shipped on time or delayed. The seller must notify you of the delay and get your agreement.


So get your money back .... oh ask your card company if they need your claim in writing

My tall namwah was supposed to be a blue Java, but it turned out to be one heck of a plant. Same with the ensete. I put both plantlets directly in the ground the very afternoon they arrived. June 10 2020 to be exact. I broke every rule and those plants really took off.

I am not saying that FHN doesn't suck, because I believe they do, just telling a story and giving you hope at the same time. I would much rather buy from forum member Larry (sddarkman). His plants are much healthier.

That being said I bought a few more from FH this year just for kicks. Another ensete, a zebrina and an x-cross hybrid. Certainly cheap enough to play with. So far so good but they didn't jump like the ones previously mentioned.

I just called the number on my bank history. It was PayPal’s number. The lady was able to track and get me shipment info. They are shipping USPS and there was a label created. Maybe I’ll get lucky and it will ship. We’ll see. I’ll keep updating this thread. Hopefully with some pictures too.

If the debit has Visa or Master card (or other Credit Card Brand) on it, then you should be covered. Talk to your Bank. Some rules do change a little. But the consumer fraud protection rules are the same.

Pay Pal wont release the money to the vendor until he provides a Tracking number as proof the merchandiser was shipped. But that doesn't mean the product was actually shipped; only a label was created. Tracking should or may show the package has not been received by the carrier.


So did you ask for your money to be refunded?

I'll definitely try if it doesn't show up. If you look on Yelp for FHN....their reviews are bad even as far as 12 months ago.

I've been watching that guy for years. search this board for the thread where he was posing as a buyer who purchased from FHN, and watch as Jared calls him out as teh guy FROM FHN trying to get people to buy form him. He was immediately banned for life.
He used to be on ebay but I think it also banned now, his feedback was horrid and the way he talked to people, really bad.
There was one year where Gros Michels were not available for about 2 years however he was selling"gros michels" on ebay, and since there's only one supplier I decided to buy one for kicks and see what I got.
After getting it and telling him it wasn't a gros michel because I know the supplier and they were out for a year going on 2, he started cussing me out adn saying I was the owner of THIS BOARD(which I'm not) and that I was trying to stir up ****.
He's a sore loser.

I think that would be a closer name. A company that doesn't respond to multiple emails and doesn't list a phone number or have any customer service at all is pretty shady.

Curious, why support a business that you says sucks? I have never dealt with FHN but 90%+ what I hear is negative but people just keep giving them money JMHO don't buy from them and let them die....

I have no vendetta against these guys. It's obvious some people have been wronged but I haven't been. The owner also appears to be a piece of work but that, to me is all second hand. Also, they're cheap as hell. Typically you get what you pay for but for lucky little me it's always worked out with them.

I ordered from them a few times 2-3 years ago, I got stuff and most of the trees were correct but with bananas only time would tell and those that fruited have all been incorrect (4 out of 6). they also were very beat up from not perfect shipping. I still believe the deal with FHN is that they buy the 2nd hand, mislabeled or not labeled plants from argistarts for super cheap and resell them as whatever they want/think it may be.

Sounds about right. I bought those 2 plants and some gran nains and everything grew pretty good. That was before I joined this forum and read "that thread" (was a doosie) about them. I've never grown anything and what I got from them did so the products can't bee too awful. Also I always got what I ordered, at least in terms of quantity. I think my ensete is an ensete and my GNs are GNs but the Blue java will be a namwah.

Bottom line they're cheap and will ship to South Carolina in February. It's an option for a winter fix on the cheap. Definitely nothing to compare with the Praying Hands and Truly Tinys (and others) I got from Larry.

According to the tracking my order is coming. So at least I have to give him a tiny bit of credit. However, if you cannot trust what the order actually is...that pretty much stinks. It’s a shame, because all the guy would have to do is be legit and at the very least give his cell number and reply to texts or even phone calls to keep the business going. If he’d do that he could gain respect and grow his business.


I have a friend that’s a one man show in the Aquarium maintenance and corals sales business. Although he gets bogged down with work and has a hard time keeping up with everything...he will get back to you and order exactly what species of coral you ask for. He’ll also call anybody that leaves a bad review and ask for an opportunity to make it right.

Anyway, I just cut the lower leaves on my Dwarf Cavendish from Lowe’s. Hopefully it will focus more energy to grow the plant.

After the hard freeze this winter it killed a lot of banana’s here. So nobody was getting them in.

I decided to buy that plant against my better judgement because it was convenient and I had a good idea the label was correct. I just wanted to see those pretty leaves. This was my first plant. I found some at local nurseries, but not the species I was interested in. I’m mainly looking for dwarfs because I feel like the plant will put more energy into fruiting than height. I also like the idea of easier access and easier winterization. :-)

If I had a bigger place I’d take a 20’-40’ plant no problem. :-)

Wellspring Gardens is an online nursery similar to FHN but with the best packaging ever (tape over soil so it cant spill, pots taped to box so they cant move and large air packets to take up the unused space) i've only gotten a few bananas from them and they are all agristarts but 100% correct so far with dwarf namwa, hua moa and dwarf orinoco. I've mainly used them for other fruit plants/trees and they are out of stock a lot. They also have real customer service and reply to emails quickly.

Yeah I've also used Wellspring Gardens and have had great experiences with them. They tend to have different varieties available at different times of the year. This year I bought Thai Black and Veinte Cohol from them.

Last year I bought a ton of different varieties from them but I want to talk about everyones favorite 'nursery' banana... Blue Java

Last year when I bought it from them it was only $16 and now they are selling them for $80..... EIGHTY DOLLARS FOR A TC
At that price you might as well get a real pup from someone here or on Ebay.
Every other banana they sell is still around $15

Of course I still have yet to know if my $16 'Blue Java' is the real deal, but that's why I also ended up buying a real Blue Java pup from another banana enthusiast. :08:

As for your 16$ ICE it is NOT a blue Java, I can guarantee that. The "ice cream" you got is the AGS tall namwah.

The reason why the ice creams are going for 30-80$ is because some click bait bloggers did a couple articles on "Ice Cream" bananas about 1 year ago and told everyone how they taste like VANILLA ICE CREAM, after that EVERYONE wanted one and the ice cream sales blew up and went out the roof. AGS ice creams were flying off the shelf like tickle me elmos, and so everyone raised the prices on those and they are still high and they still sell.

My real Blue Javas sell for 60$ each, includes shipping. Should you ever want one I have a waiting list.

I bought the Thai Black towards the end of March and received the plants by the beginning of April I believe.

So going on close to 2 months since I got them. They are doing extremely well, around 3x the size since when I got them.

I bought 10 "blue Java" from them in 19.. I now have 10 confirmed fruiting namwah. The plants were 28 bucks at the time.

Yeah that's been pretty much my expectation that it will end up being a Namwah.

I'm already growing a Dwarf Namwah, Tall Namwah (true pup) & Blue Java (true pup)
Either way I'm going to end up with an extra Namwah or Blue Java.

When I got this TC last year I also bought Manzano from them as well.
I've read that Manzano gets mixed up a lot with Brazilian much like Blue Java and Namwah.

I also ended up buying a separate true Manzano pup just to be sure.
Once my TC Manzano fruits I'll need to ID to see if it's the real thing or if it's Brazilian.

i just re read youre post and sunlight does seem to be a factor in making the stem go black so hopefully once it is brought into full sun it will change colour

Being a TC, mine probably won't turn black until it matures more and gets exposed to direct sunlight. Hope it turns out to be the real deal
