It's Official!
I've definitely got flower buds coming up on my Dwarf Orinoco, and Ice Cream plants in the driveway. I wanted to be sure before I posted and jinxed myself. The Dw Orinoco started first with a 3/4 leaf, following with 1/2, 1/4 and flag leaf. The Ice Cream put out it's 3/4 leaf a week later, then went to 1/3 leaf and then 1/8th leaf with the buds emerging simultanaeously on both plants! It'll be interesting to see how fast each kind develops and which one will finish producing fruit first. Sounds like a new contest! Don't forget to keep checking the contest page...

Re: It's Official!
I can almost see the smile on your face! Way to go and Atta boy's to you! This stuff sure is addicting, I want at least one of every kind of banana....in my dreams!
What a cool moment, one that I hope to experience many times, too. Thanks for the pics, as well. So nice to see everyone's bananas growing. |

Re: It's Official!
Understand the need for not posting pics during the contest, but keep a pictoral diary of their progress to share the growth of each afterwards. to me that would be invaluable info on these two plants. Again. tahnks so much for the contest and congrats on the dueling blooms. And No- we don't need banjo music right now!!!

Re: It's Official!
Yes, they're in my driveway, but they line up Dw Orinoco to the east and Ice Cream to the west. The wall is to the south and shades the bottom of the stem.
