Default It's Official!

I've definitely got flower buds coming up on my Dwarf Orinoco, and Ice Cream plants in the driveway. I wanted to be sure before I posted and jinxed myself. The Dw Orinoco started first with a 3/4 leaf, following with 1/2, 1/4 and flag leaf. The Ice Cream put out it's 3/4 leaf a week later, then went to 1/3 leaf and then 1/8th leaf with the buds emerging simultanaeously on both plants! It'll be interesting to see how fast each kind develops and which one will finish producing fruit first. Sounds like a new contest! Don't forget to keep checking the contest page...

What a cool moment, one that I hope to experience many times, too. Thanks for the pics, as well. So nice to see everyone's bananas growing.

Thank you all. I will keep everyone posted, but because of the contest, I prolly shouldn't post pics, but instead put out a weekly commentary. I can let on which one is developing more quickly ala: how fast the sepals peel back.

I suspect I'll have to close the guessing at some point. I'll have to think about that one. Thanks again!

Understand the need for not posting pics during the contest, but keep a pictoral diary of their progress to share the growth of each afterwards. to me that would be invaluable info on these two plants. Again. tahnks so much for the contest and congrats on the dueling blooms. And No- we don't need banjo music right now!!!

I have a hard time not taking pics every day. I am interested in the side by side comparisons as well as the progress of each individual. I will put up a full photo diary when it's all over.

Yes, they're in my driveway, but they line up Dw Orinoco to the east and Ice Cream to the west. The wall is to the south and shades the bottom of the stem.
