About half my banana plants are indoor and half outdoor now given weather in Louisville. Is outdoor with some shade on a porch going to yield results that much better than keeping inside? They will have to come in for the winter anyways, but wasn't sure if the consistency of 68-72 degrees indoors with less humidity albeit, may be better than outside, as summer temps hit high 80's/low 90s though higher humidity. Thoughts?

For me the sooner tropical plants are outdoors the better.
With real sunlight and more warmth my plants really take off.

After last frost is a good time to start making the move outdoors.

Thank you! Then seeing you are in a similar climate to mine, do you ever phase them from partial sun on the patio or porch to more direct sunlight as they accost to being outside?

Absolutely,
Even if your plants have grown under lights over the winter they are not ready for the great outdoors
Your tender plants have to harden off to the outdoor weather.
A gradual transition to full sun is highly recommended.

Your tropicals will severely sunburn if not.
I have burnt a few over the years

Yeah I smokedddd a cavendish last year trying that and have been gun shy since but was going to retry this year.

Assuming we put outside about the same time, when do you usually feel has been ample time to "harden to the great outdoors" and place in full sun in Cincinasty? (lol sorry I am from Pittsburgh originally)

But how do you know from your experience when nanners are ready to move from shaded sun outdoor and put in full sun? Don't want to sunburn!

Is there a certain amount of time or process you follow to "summerize" your plants for full sun per se?
