That Football Club in your Avatar, isn't that the club with the best
goalkeeper of the world?

Okay, Musa Basjoo, it always comes back with some mulch, even after the
bad winter we had last year.

I'm with Ron, on this one... Musa basjoo because of its hardiness. Not the prettiest banana, but definitely the most reliable for me so far.

Musa velutina. It produces fruit each year and ripens by fall. You can't beat the ornamental aspects of the plant.

Im going with my dwarf cavendish. It makes alot of babies, and is one of the only fruiting bananas that taste great and wont grow out of a large pot.

I guess it would be my mini super dwarf cavendish. It pups like crazy, it's blooming and if I could only keep one banana I suppose that means something happened to all my greenhouses. So I'd be out of space to grow one too! LOL......

For a fruiting banana it would be the roll The Rajapuri

My second one would be the roll The Black Thai

Ensete Ventricosum Maurelii gets my vote as well.

I like the way it looks, mainly.

What a tough question! ..... very tough since I just changed my mind twice.
I guess I'd go with Sandy's logic and pick the SDC because it can live it's life in a pot indoors and hopefully bear fruit here in zone 6.

( otherwise I'd side with lorax)

I would probably pick Ensete ventricosum, not the maurellii but the plain Ensete with the red midrib, its an awsome banana to be able to grow in England and it is less likely to shred than others grown here.

My favourite at the moment is the Musa siam ruby but Ive yet to get one to a good size.

Great question. You can see it depends on your area. In Santa Barbara, CA I have had great success with my AeAe's. They have lots of babies and hopefully I will get fruit next year. The variegation is beautiful! The other reason I like them is the Hawaiian story/culture behind them (for royalty). Lastly, Hawaii is my next destination where I am planning on growing almost everything. What is there not to like about them? Out of my 60 varieties anyone that comes over stops and say's "what are these".
