![]() I'M BACK BABY!
I have no power at my house and no phone... both were ripped off my house by a rather large tree. The elm that was in my back yard is now laying down from fence to fence (took out one side of the fence in fact) 200,000 some odd people with out power in the Tulsa metro area. Our Dispatch lost power to our computers last night and we were short handed due to the weather so I had to stay for 17 hrs and literally put out hundreds (possibly over a thousand) calls to police and fire. It is still very bad here and we may be due for some more later this evening... I have no internet at my house so I may not be on here for a while. Thank you for all the support... good news is that our house is heated by gas so we have heat and hot water. Nate hang in there buddy, as soon as I get my internet back up I am looking for a place in Fl. (seriously not joking) Regards to all -James- |

![]() Remember, you ice storm people, all those tree limbs are a great source of building material for twig furniture, trellises, etc.
I made a ton of stuff after our ice storm a few years ago. Chairs, loveseats, planters, trellis pieces, garden arches, a gazebo. So don't forget to sort through your brush for useable pieces. I have pictures of some of my projects in this webshots album; if you want to see them. http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/...ome-and-garden in case that doesn't work, I'm not always that computer savvy, just go to webshots.com and look for username sandy0225, it's in the twig furniture and projects album. You can look at the other ones too if you want.

![]() I'm feelin for yall. Thankfully we have not lost power yet. Right now my driveway is a skating rink and it's raining outside. The rain isn't making a dent in the ice. The skating rink laughed at a 50lb bag of rock salt yesterday!!!!!! Desperate times call for desperate measures...........Thinking about dynamite.....hmmmmmmmm
On the lighter side, my cat saw a squirrel across the yard and tried to go after it.......I think even the squirrel was laughing as the cat was spinning in circles.... lmao ![]() |

![]() I am very thankful the ice we got Sunday was not that bad.. or could be that all the trees that would have broke power lines were taken out last winter or the early spring before.. no power outage here.. just enough ice to keep kids home Monday..
I can feel for those with out power right now.. They kept saying we would get more.. but I have only seen a few snow flakes.. and some plane rain.. Good luck to all in the heartland enduring the nasty weather!!! my prayers are with you!! Gina *BabyBlue* |

![]() Sandy; I really like the gazebo.
For all of you suffering with the ice; Good luck. It finally got warm enough so that snow flakes melted just above the ground then froze on contact with the streets, sidewalks etc. We got a tiny taste of what you were experiencing. Allen

![]() Well, me and the fam survived the 2007 ice storm with only minor damage. We lost our power 3 different times, slept in the cold, missed three days of work, lost a lot of tree's, but all the plants survived. I had to bring everything in and heat with a small propane heater but that dude kept me and the fam warm! I've got everything back in the greenhouse now after a good watering and some pruning. I'll be cleaning up and burning limbs till spring but all in all we were lucky. We got hit pretty good but not near as bad as others. I know OK got hammered an parts of MO did too, just the corner of Kansas mainly. I hope everyone else made it through without too much loss. I'm sure there are some who are still w/out power and that really sucks!! Thanx for all the prayers and support everyone!! I'm posting a few pics of around my neighborhood. The farther I ventured the more damage I saw but these should give you the magnitude of the storm. I'm ready for SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!

![]() BACK AGAIN BABY!!!
Just got power yesterday but phone lines are still down so net usage has been scarce. I probably won't be hooked back up until next week sometime. Glad to hear you pulled through OK Nate!... Hope y'all don't have to endure much of this next round coming in. they are predicting 1-6 inches of snow for us... which really isn't that bad it is just annoying since we just got through with this ice and just started clean up and recovery. Everyone else who has been affected by this, good luck and hope you pull through it with as little trouble as possible. I know I have been lucky compared to some on my street with trees falling through their homes. Regards, -James- |
