![]() I separated a 4 foot pup from the mother plant but I did not get the roots, only the white underground stem part. Another small plant had started to grow and I took that and planted both of them together in soil prepared for tropical plants.
Does it have a chance of growing, or will it die. What can I do? Thank you professionals. |

![]() It may still grow. I get breaks at times and I just plant them to see how they do. Often they end up growing and once in a while just don't. They parent plant will probably make plenty more. Digging a hole by the plant you want to remove helps release pressure and limit breaking.

![]() I've had some come up with no roots that made it. Keep it out of the heat and direct sunlight and mist the leaves to keep them from dying off.

![]() Hello, folks!
Thank you so much for your help. We had rain a few days ago, and yesterday morning I checked on the pup I planted with NO ROOTS, and happy to report that it has rooted (see photo) in my opinion. Not only did the large leaf unfold, but a new leaf is also growing!!!! I have about 4 new pups sprouting up from the mother, but they are not too tall yet. I will take a couple and try my luck at indoor planting. I bought two very large planters to plant them indoors. I'M SOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!! No roots, and it survived! ![]() Last edited by LAPlantDiva : 12-03-2018 at 04:05 PM. |

![]() You have nothing to lose by letting it be and seeing what happens. Bananas are amazingly resilient.
