I've got almost 1100 plants in pots at my house waiting for warmer weather so they can actually be planted. Normally, after Valentines you can plant without fear of frost, but now I am behind on my planting about 2 weeks and the only plants that are actually ready to be planted are some FHIA-17s and some Plantains. The only blessing this winter is that we have actually had regular rainfall. Last edited by LilRaverBoi : 02-27-2010 at 02:33 AM. Reason: Posts Merged |

Here on the Island, we're still waiting for the temperatures to break into the teens. So far, a fairly mild winter, much nicer than the last two, but in a mildly frustrating hold pattern, with typical rainfall amounts, but seems to be less frequent sunny days, and the fore-mentioned stalled temperatures.Lots of bulbs showing color and rhodos ready to go, but needing those higher temperatures to really show off! Come on Spring!

Looks like my fever was cured 1 week ago. At first I thought it was just a warm spell, but now I know it's spring. So here's to end of the worst winter in decade!
![]() ![]() Hope it warms up for you real soon too!

Well don't fret, have a drink of choice & chill, cause the good stuff is coming. Patience is a virtue (you have endure the crap to get to the cream), and El~Nino can go bye-bye :^)

Well, I have a feeling.. it is going to go from the 50s to the 100s next month once high pressure sets in because April can mean 100s. Going to be a total shock on all my plants and everything will be fried.

Really? I know Vegas is hotter than Rocklin and i don't think it has EVER hit 100 in April. In fact, the average highs here in April are 75-80.

You know why its spring...
1. Flowers are coming up (Tulips, Iris's, etc..) 2. Cause in 12 days is daylight savings time. 3. Home Depot is selling Rhubard bulbs, and all that other mess of plants. 4. The birds are here & heading north. 5. Butterflies are in the near future..(they are in mid-texas flying already) 6. We had our last freeze last night :^) Last edited by Abnshrek : 03-03-2010 at 11:53 AM. |

But it wasn't a big deal since we had 70s & 80s since early Jan 2009 and my plants were acclimated. I can tell you this though, I'm probably going to get screwed out of nice weather and straight to needing the A/C. I'm calling it now.
