Default Hurricane Isaac vs Nanna's

Well it's day 6 with no power here in Lizard Creek:{

Just wanted to let everyone know the Nanna's didn't let ISAAC kick their a**

The leaves got shreded a little but plants are putting out new leaves and have enjoyed the 13" of rain the last few days.

These nanna's are pretty tough rascals:}

I like DAT ME!

I remember what south Louisiana was like with no power - no air conditioning. Spent 12 weeks in the summer at Fort Polk once.

Hope you get power back soon.

Oh and about Fort Polk, La. how did you like the mosquitoes? :}

Mosquitoes are the size of small sparrows here in Lizard Creek

It's nice to hear you and D Mae are OK.
I can't believe you live with those mosquitoes.
I have millions of taranchulas, centipedes and scorpions,
but no mosquitoes.

Thanks I'll just keep the mosquitos.

All three of them have venom and one throws irritating hairs at you.

Yes Sir, I think I'll stick to the mosquitos.

Don't remember mosquitos at Ft Polk. Will never forget the heat and humidity though. Had to break starch every day. By the end of the days training I looked almost as bad as my trainees.

Breaking starch isn't that like living in an oven all day? Starched up no wonder you were skeeter proof.. :^)

I managed to find 4 of the 12 or so little Gros Michel and Double Mahoi bananas I lost in Isaac's storm surge (they were at my father-in-law's house, up high but not high enough). I'm going to go looking for more of them later today. The water has finally gone down enough and the alligators are most likely not hanging around anymore.

My Saba at home broke, as did almost all of them at my father in law's and the one's at another place all fell over. Some Orinoco broke. Some fell down. Most are tattered.

At least that's what I can remember for now.

Tommy sorry for your losses. I hope they grow back quickly and maybe you can find some more of the Gros Michels and Double Mahois.
