Re: Hardiness of these bananas
Speaking only from personal experience, Namwah has been totally unaffected down to 35F, while Manzano lost a couple leaves at that temp but the pstem and bananas survived. Gros Michel can start losing leaves in the mid 40s.

Re: Hardiness of these bananas
My Gros Michel has started to lose leaves in the mid-40s F, or ~7 degrees C. Mine hasn't been exposed to to 40F/4.4C temps yet so I can't really comment.

Re: Hardiness of these bananas
Fair enough. In the UK its a rare-ish plants so don’t wanna kill it. It’s in a pot and I’ve been putting it inside over night then in my poly first thing in the morning and it’s starting to get silly. So may leave it at it’s around 8-9 degrees Celsius over night if it can survive 7

Meanwhile the Dwarf Cavendishes: I haven't seen a temperature below 35F since I started growing the Namwah, so I can't say from personal experience what happens below that, but this thread should be helpful just so you can visualize the stages of bananas' sensitivity to cold: Dwarf Namwah cold hardiness |
