It may sound crazy to some, but I am looking to get all of the solid green bananas I can. (Ones with next to zero pink or red) Can you name the ones that come to mind? I've got a few 'greens' like Basjoo, Orinoco, Misi Luki, and Brazilian.

They are green when they get some size but I exclude the cavendish types because of the splotches when young.

Yeah. Saba, Praying hands and ice cream. I've got ice cream but they are so waxy they look bluish.

I don't have any, but isn't Margarita all green? Lowe's had a few small ones that were very bright green.

Some Goldfinger have some greenish red streaks in it. I asked because mine does and I was told by another on here that some have that.

I think Raja Puri also does not have much other coloration or wine splotches.

I just gave a friend a Goldfinger pup and it has the standard cavendish markings. They fade quickly and become bright green, even more so than some others.

About the Saba. I got 5 potted pups now at up to 2 ft, and they have very light burgundy ribs which grow out after a couple of leaves sprout planted in the ground. Same for the leaf margin. Later on - the most majestic big green naner along with the pitogo and the prayin hands.
Dwf Orinoco has the thickest greenest leaves I have grown out. It's my toughest naner plant. Dan |

You stated 'Brazilian.'
All the brazilians have a pinkish/red lipstick border on the leaves. Very small, but quite noticable. |

My 'Brazilian' has pink edges, but doesn’t seem more obvious than my standard Orinoco. Should it be more prominent? Any close-up pictures?

True Misi Luki has has a maroon color on the bottom of the leaves and pink on the midribs.
Add FHIA 18 to the all green list. |
