Sounds like an awesome trip. Looking forward to reading more about it. This is one of those places you've always heard of but may never get a chance to visit. Kudos to you for making the trip happen.

Love the new avatar, Chris! I'd really like to get a hold of one of the Fe'i types someday. Not holding my breath, though.

Last person I know of that grew them in the continental US was Bill Lessard (former owner of Going Bananas and author of "The Complete Book of Bananas")....

Hey Chris
Looks alot like the Cook Islands. Thanks for sharing the story of your stay. That was great. I read a book awhile back "Blue Latitudes" in which a modern day sailor retraced Capt. Cook's voyages on a modern day sail boat.
I spend alot of my time dreaming about those far away places. I'd love to hear more about that trip, awesome. Did you get to dive or snorkel any?
Bo

Hey Bo,

Too funny as my wife read/is reading "Kon Tiki"...Six men on a small raft sail four thousand miles across the Pacific Ocean, from Peru to the Polynesian Islands.

The trip was amazing...I need to post another entry. I am with you on dreaming of far away places..I have always dreamed of going to French Polynesia...I have been to Hawaii 4 times, lived in Panama' for three years, got married in St. Croix USVI and was an Army kid growing up (lived in 20 different house in 20 years)..the urge to travel is amazing...and never leaves us.

We did not snorkel, there is great snorkeling there. I have snorkeled all my life (my family is from Key West), time just slipped away; we explored the islands and relaxed.

Talk soon Bo,

Chris

wow, So were those your pictures? if so thats some nice photography! Never heard of the Fei banana before but sounds enchanting!

when you say its against the rules to bring back a pup, does that mean US customs rules, or the French Polynesisan rules? I am wondering if while on vacation you could air mail a pup back to your home, would this get around the problem?

look forward to more photo and dialog! I am itching to travel to tropical far away places!
Any notabale palms on the islands?

Luke
